The 'dirt' on new shoes...

"Never trust a man in a wheel chair with dirty shoes..."
-Unknown

Shoes: Hannahs
Dress: Glassons
Jumper: Calvin Klein Jeans
Necklaces: American Eagle and gem stone from markets

New shoes are wonderful things, but there are certain steps i follow before i present a good pair of new shoes to the public...
If its heels, i admit i wear them around the house a bit just to break them in.
But for flat shoes, whether its sneakers, boots or lace-ups, i actually try to get them muddy.
You may think its weird, but i love keeping my heels spotless and perfect, but hate it when my flat, more casual, shoes are shiny and new.

And then along came my new shoes from Hannahs, flat creme suede lace-ups, WITH dirt already on them. At first i was unsure, do i really want shoes that look like they have already been worn? but i must admit the idea of pre-dirtified shoes is growing on me...

  7. Pink looks so saccharine sweet on you, pretty lady! I also love how you've styled it with the canvas shoes and rolled up socks so that the whole outfit isn't too girly (not that there is anything wrong with that haha!). ;) Loving your nails too - so inspiring, if only I had the patience!

Thank you for your sweet comment! :) I love your blog and am following you now!

Hope you'll come and pop by again. :)

  11. I know what you mean, I love to dirty up my chucks before wearing them! Love the idea of tying a sweater over a dress!

  12. O_o are they supposed to be like that LOL! Myself, I prefer to 'ruff em up' myself but more as a sentimental thing; scuff marks hold stories of stupid things I've done he he he! I do love your hipster inspired outfit lovely!

  20. That's so funny that you do that! Not funny, just quirky. :) My tennis shoes usually get dirty eventually so I don't take care of them as much as I do my heels and "nice" flat type shoes. ;) So I can understand that!

That dress is so very pretty and I love the lovely texture of that shirt on top.

  21. I LOVE this outfit. It looks like you just stepped out of a magazine. And I'm kind of the same. I bought some white keds, but I don't want to jump in mud so when I walk I try to "accidentally" kick some rocks or the oops I just spilled something on it trick.

  33. Very cute dress! And I like the top...I can imagine it with so many other things. As for breaking in heels at home, that's certainly a very logical thing to do! Haha, although I think we're opposites when it comes to flats. I always like all my shoes to look new. Everytime I get dirt on/scuff it, I just die a little on the inside.
