Awkward and I know it...

I like people who have a sense of individuality. I love expression and anything awkward and imperfect,
because that’s natural and that’s real.

- Marc Jacobs

I've always been a pretty awkward person in many aspects of life, and as I've gotten older I think I've
both lost some of that or rather embraced it as something that's always there.
However as soon as a camera is turned towards me I have two reactions;
to make a funny face or be lost and crippled by awkwardness.
Luckily my photographers stick with me and we will normally have some post worthy photos left after a delete session.
Even though I was in a deserted paddock for these shots I still didn't know what to do,
but you almost wouldn't know it.

If you have a blog do you ever get stuck for poses?

Sorry Ellen for always having to put up with "what do I do, I dont know what I'm doing, there's people looking this way"

  2. great look! and I totally know what you mean with the poses, sometimes when my mom does the pictures she will say, "well move, do something" and I'll just stand there awkwardly not knowing what to do:D
    love your skirt btw:)

  3. Of course I get stuck on what pose to make- it's a cross between, "How do I showcase the outfit?" and "How do I NOT look like a moron?" Haha. :)

You look gorgeous- love the plum skirt!

  7. I always get stuck on poses too. I think it's better to repeat poses you're comfortable with instead of doing something new and awkward. Love that marc jacobs quote :) cute shoes!

  12. Hahaha! Oh man, I think we all go through that. I always ask my mom "Ummmm, what should I do?" and she basically gives me a blank stare. I think you just gotta play with it. You can always delete the awkward photos and discover what works for you :) I like incorporating movement into my outfit photos!
Anyway, these turned out lovely - that skirt is oh so pretty on you :)

  14. I love this post! I def get awkward sometimes too when taking pictures. The best pics come out when you are relaxed so it's something I try to remind myself when taking pictures. When you relax and smile and move freely it is when pictures come out looking natural and beautiful. I love this purple skirt and the way the sun is shining down on you in these pics. So beautiful ;)
