Impulse shopping: Falling in love all at once...

"I fell in love the way you fall asleep: slowly, and then all at once.”
― John GreenThe Fault in Our Stars

My mid year break has arrived so I not only have time to work on some creative ideas, but I can also start to reduce the
always growing pile of books I want to read. I bought The Fault in Our Stars earlier in the year and couldn't wait to read
it, but between uni reading and library books that were due I didn't get onto it until now.

Probably one of the most (over) used quotes from TFIOS I used to start off the post today.  I went shopping and fell in
love with a top "all at once" (there is no slow about impulse buying) then the next day I read this quote for the first time in
the book, thinking it would work well with this outfit post. My new shirt was a complete love at first sight affair. I had kind
of halfheartedly had in mind I wanted another collared top, but when I saw the little foxes on this print I had no doubt
that it was meant to be. These jeans though fit the whole quote of "slowly, then all at once". They were given to me by my
auntie after a dry cleaning debacle shrunk them, and though I liked them enough at first, one day I was entirely in love with
them without noticing.

lipstick - rimmel Kate Moss 107
bracelets - equip + stilen
necklace c/o jollychic
boots, shirt - garage
watch - May29th
cardigan - supre

Fashion I like tends to go one of those two ways for me. Whether it be a particular item or a trend, I'm either fully in love within
seconds, or a bit slow processing but I'm in love without knowing when it happened.
Is it like this for any of you? Or is it more in the middle?

My exams are over, YAY! The post-exam cramp in my hand from frantic writing this morning was killer, but I have recovered,

so  I am now free to do what ever takes my fancy again (sewing and reading sound alluring). Tonight however I seemed to
get a bit carried away playing around on photoshop with these images for the giveaway. Oops. I've got a few plans in my
little ideas notebook that I think I'll share on here. Ahh holiday projects here I come! It's often pretty random, but if you want
to see some sneak peaks/BTS of these you can follow on me on instagram -> @tardaeda

"My friend made me a leather dress... It gives you confidence wearing something you love"
- Cat Deely
There is a constant silent debate in the fashion world on what 'style' of leather jackets should be 'in' this season.
The industry provides us with endless amounts of different styles to choose from, and every winter I find
myself in love with whatever leather creation hits the stores. The exciting new styles and shapes of the
basic leather jacket always pull me in, but alas, I never buy a new one. The secret key to a leather jacket that will
remain timeless throughout the years is simplicity. I may be ready to invest in those studded detailed pockets
this season, but by the time next winter rolls around I know I will be asking myself this question: "What
was I thinking?". My one and only leather jacket in my wardrobe was bought a number of years ago
in the US by my dad (snaps for daddy!). I was quick to knick it off my sister and it's become my best
friend in winter. It's classic shape, with little detailing, is basic yet timeless and in my opinion,
 the perfect leather jacket.

Le Spectacular Glasses

"I never go out during the day without sunglasses"
- Tory Burch
I admit, I am a girl who loves her sunglasses. However, a great secret of mine is that my expanding collection
doesn't contain a single pair of sunnies over the value of $10. Ok, ok, I guess I am a bit of a cheap skate
when it comes to sunglasses, but I always find myself breaking them or loosing them every five minutes.
I have almost come to fear expensive glasses, avoiding them in stores thinking that if I walk past them they
will jump off shelves at me and shatter. Slight exaggeration perhaps ;) But I am pleased to announce
an improvement with my issues with sunnies. I have now been treated to my very own pair of  designer sunglasses
courtesy of the lovely people at "". This gorgeous piece of eyewear has definitely let me
in on the pleasures of expensive eye candy. Maybe next time I'm shopping those untouchable glasses won't be so scary ;)

T-Shirt : General Issue

I kept things simple with this outfit as a way to show off the glasses. It may be winter and I MAY of been
going on a date to the movies but a girl always needs her sunnies. Enough said.

Golden loves...

"Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love"
- Mother Teresa

I never know quite what to write in posts. I read so many great pieces of writing from other bloggers that it kind
of only adds to my ambivalence. Some people write really interesting posts about their lives. Some write creative
and beautiful prose. But I'm not feeling particularly inspired today (I guess we all have those days), luckily I was prepared
in advance and can draw on a previous period of inspiration that resulted in creation of my new skirt.
This skirt I made after being inspired by some fabric my Mum had brought home for on of her projects. I could remember
seeing  some cool photos of leather skirts floating around and thought  I could try do something  like that.  It  went  together
surprisingly easily, and using part of a pattern I have made before meant I was cut and sewing in no time. It isn't actual metallic
leather (instead it's a fabric of the vinyl family) but I think it turned out pretty cool for something going together so quickly (having
cool fabric can have that effect)...

lipstick - Rimmel by Kate Moss #107 (love this so much atm)
glasses - (ahh I dont know :/ random on sale?)
nail polish - OPI liquid sand Honey Ryder
necklace c/o jollychic
ring - Karen Walker
skirt - made by me
top - cotton on

I also managed to find a bottle of the OPI liquid sand in the Honey Ryder colour from the bond girls collection. I was so excited
after deciding not to get it when I first saw it and regretting that decision once I got home. I'm kinda in love with the liquid sand
nail polishes I have. I love that they have a bit of texture to them and they last sooo much longer without chipping (two weeks
compared to my others which sometimes can last only a few days if I've been peeling off barcodes).

I really need to go to bed now. I'm on exam leave so need to start getting stuck into revision tomorrow!
Time to descend into the world of nutrition...
Hope the week ahead brings some great things for y'all!

"My personality is up and down, sassy and cheeky"
- Katy Perry

From Sex and the City' in the 90's to Miss Conrad on the hills; our favourite ugly Betty and the current 'Carrie Diaries',
personalized name necklaces have always caught my eye. They are the perfect way to stamp an outfit with a
unique touch. I have always admired the many starlets who sport their own monogram necklace
and thanks to 'My Name Necklace.' I now have my very own! Despite some hiccups along the way, I finally got
my gorgeous 18k rose gold plated 'EMM" necklace in the mail. With so many options to choose from, I finally
settled on this design. I love how its subtle and requires a second glance of interest to understand it. I
was too excited to wait and share it with you guys so I took these photos this afternoon of the necklace nestled
in the super cute packaging! I'm now naming (haha no pun intended) personalized necklaces a must
have for every girls jewellery box. And your in luck, we have a special discount code just for SSC readers!
Use the code "CONQUER" and get 10% off your order from My Name Necklace!

"People wait all week for Friday, all year for summer, all life for happiness"

Everyone is waiting for something. Whether it be a special plan, a season, a person, dinner to finish cooking, it seems like
there is always something to wait for. Waiting is often necessary, and showing patience can lead to something great (like
homemade soup in winter, yum!), but when it stops you from enjoying whatever is happening now it can be wasteful. I pretty
much feel like I spend most of my time waiting for winter to come around again. It's my favourite season for many reasons;
beanies, layers, coats, crisp mornings, hot drinks, skiing! But it doesn't stop me from enjoying the many things the other
times of year have to offer. One of those being the last chance to wear skirts and dresses without tights! Secondly the
beautiful bright red leaves just about to fall off the trees, seasonal backdrop colourfulness >.<

top, skirt, shirt - glassons
boots - Andrea Biani
bracelets - equip

I chose this quote not to talk about my love of winter again, but because I think sometimes we get so stuck waiting for things
to happen we forget that sometimes you need to go and make things happen. Chances are there wont be a 'right moment'
but that shouldn't stop you doing/starting anyway.

Peeking back

“Women think of all colors except the absence of color. I have said that
black has it all. White too. Their beauty is absolute. It is the perfect harmony”
- Coco Chanel

So we may be on the edges of the depth of winter here in New Zealand, but I could resist  this outfit
featuring my new back-slit singlet. So I braved the cold and I must admit I think it was totally
worth it! My favourite leather skirt was the perfect complement to my new singlet and then to tie
the look together with a little fun, I added my Gigi New York bag.
Try and stop me now winter, I dare you ;)

...and a silly shot to finish off the post!
