The Adult Tutu

"I am not young, but I feel young"
- Coco Chanel

Back in March, Tara and I attended the 'Boohoo' Autumn/Winte
r preview (check out our post here). It was there that I first laid eyes on this piece of perfection. A pastel blue chiffon knee length skirt. As a child I was very much into my tutu skirts, they were my wardrobe staple. But when it comes to growing up you're not exactly taken seriously if wearing a pink tutu and fairy wings, and I never could find myself a tutu to fulfill my inner 5 year old. This skirt has a subtle nod to the fun and beauty of a classic tutu. The chiffon fabric floats when I walk and the colour is of course stunning. But the sophisticated silhouette, allows me to still look oh-so grown up so I like to call it my grown up tutu. Since the A/W preview when we first met I'd been pining over this beauty. It jumped in and out of my shopping basket and I could never get it out of my head. Finally we were united when the lovely Beat PR gifted it to me. This skirt and I were just meant to be <3

  9. I LOVE how the sheer overlay is longer and fuller than the underskirt--it makes it look like you are dancing and moving with every step. Also, lovely choice of lip color; it really stands out against the rest of the outfit.
