OOTD + MAC giveaway!

"It is not enough to be busy. So are the ants. The question is; what are you busy about?"
- Henry Thoreau

The university work load has really kicked up a notch recently. In these hectic moments of essays and group presentations, I feel like the right outfit can make all the difference. Sure I have to get up that 10 minutes earlier, but that little bit of effort really helps you approach the day with a whole new attitude. As corny as it sounds, if you look good, you feel good!

Jacket, skirt + bag : Thrifted
Shirt : Old school shirt
Shoes : Otra Cosa
Necklace : Diva
Fox Taul : gift

OOTD | Election 2014

"All we have is our vote. But it's powerful."
- Adam McKay

Yesterday it was the 121st anniversary of women getting voting rights in New Zealand. We were the first country in the world to achieve this, and our great-great-grandmother was very involved in campaigning for this. Today is also election day here in New Zealand, and though many people don't end up voting, it's something we strongly believe everyone should do. So today we thought we would do a 'outfit of the day' on what we wore to vote!

top + skort c/o boohoo
shoes - Hannahs
jacket c/o Choies
lips - Me Now Generation

shirt - glassons
skirt c/o The Warehouse
shoes c/o boohoo
hat c/o Choies
hunger games necklace - Amazon

So if you're in New Zealand and haven't voted yet, get on it! Voting will still be open till 7pm :)

Filming Day OOTD: Leather Jackets and Metallic Heels

"You still have a lot of time to make yourself be what you want."
- S. E. Hilton

Often I find it pretty awkward taking outfit photos. This feeling, in addition to having no idea what to do with myself, is then translated into body language and awkward photos. Luckily Ellen has gotten used to this and has a few go to commands which help get the shot, but on this day I was feeling particularly posey. Something just clicked and this is the result.

jeans - Esprit
leather jacket - Just Jeans
shirt - glassons
shoes c/o boohoo
necklace - antique

We took these photos on Saturday after a bumper day of all things blogging & youtube. The youtuber OOTD is already up and a GRWM is currently being edited for this weekends video! So subscribe to our channel to see that as soon as it goes up :)

Forest Frolicking

“There is always music amongst the trees in the Garden, but our hearts must be very quiet to hear it.”
- Minnie Aumonier

This Thursday I took a little day trip to Cambridge with my friend Alex. I had great girls day full of good food, laughter and of course, shopping. We spent the morning perusing the antique stores, but were disappointed to find a lot less around than we were expecting. But being the expert shoppers that we are, we still managed to come home with significantly lighter wallets. Watch out for next weeks post to see what I bought and also a few more snaps from our little adventure.

Lucky for me, Alex is an expert photographer and took these shots of my outfit. Although my outfit is a simple road-trip friendly look, I think these photos are so stunning. Can we take a moment to appreciate New Zealand nature.

plaid shirt - Front Row Shop
dress - Country Road
boots - Otra Cosa
denim jacket - Valley Girl

I'm excited to share what I bought in Cambridge, so stay tuned for that post (hint: it sparkles!). Also thanks to Alex's mum for driving us down hehe, legend.

New in: favourite nail polishes

"I wear nail polish to hide how grubby my nails are"
- Caroline Corr

Recently a few new nail polishes have come into my possession, and boy do we have some winners here! I am a little bit of a nail polish hoarder, but recently my all time favourite brand OPI has been leaving me disappointed. All my OPI colours are separating and I'm having to do at least three coats with brand new polishes to get decent coverage. So I decided to share my two new favourite collections from Maybelline and Revlon so you guys don't have to go through the pain of buying polishes that don't do the job.

Maybelline Forever Strong Super Stay Gel Nail Colour 7 Days

First off, can we take a moment to appreciate this colour? I usually struggle with pastel shades like this as I find them lacking in opaqueness and requiring at least three coats. However I was amazed to find with this polish, you could almost getaway with ONE thin coat. In terms of chip time, I don't think it lasts a full 7 days as advertised, but it certainly does a good 4-5 days. I only have the one colour that I got in a goodie bag from a launch party, but I certainly will be picking up a few more shades.

Maybelline polish in 'Eternal Lilac'
Revlon Colour Stay Gel Envy

These polishes were gifted to me by my lovely blogger friend Leonie. Much like the Maybelline colour, all you need is one coat of these and your good to go! Their dry time is pretty average, but a quick look down at my toes shows minimal chipping after a whole week! I love the blue colours pictured above, they are my ideal kind of glitter nailpolish; nothing too chunky and good solid coverage.

Revlon polish in 'Hot Hand'
Left: 'Sky's the Limit'  //  Right: 'All In'
'In the Money'
I hope you liked this beauty post! Make sure you leave a comment below if you want to see more of these. Also let me know if you have tried any other colours from these brands and I will add them to my shopping list.
