How To Wear Hats : The Floral Cap OOTD

I have personally never liked the way hats sat on my head, and as a child I had constant battles with my mum about wearing them. This summer I was on a mission to find a hat that not only fitted nicely but had some style to it. If you watched this haul video on our youtube channel, you would have seen this floral number I picked up from Cotton On. I love the colour pink and love the way the floral contrasts with the harsh leather cap. Another bonus - it was an absolute bargain! I can't quite remember the price but my mum and I ended up going back and purchasing some more for Christmas presents for my cousins.

I based this outfit around the colours of the cap and styled it with a bright pink t-shirt. I wanted to keep the whole look quite casual and sporty so I finished it off with a simple skater skirt and black sneakers. I was also having a particularly good hair day and definitely think this cap looks best with your hair down.

Parka Jackets, Plaid Shirts + Black Ankle Boots | Autumn Trends 2015 Pt I

Autumn and winter fashion is our favourite, so as it starts to cool down we get so excited to start getting out the deeper colours and warmer layers! For some the transition from summer to autumn is not as loved as by us. So over the next couple of weeks we are bringing to the blog a few posts with The Warehouse, featuring affordable items in store now to help you get inspired for the coming change of season.

This post was made possible thanks to The Warehouse and nzgirl. All items mentioned in this post were gifted but hand-picked instore and styled by us:) for more on #officialblogger see here

THE PARKA JACKET// Garage navy anorak $49
The good old parka jacket has been around for a couple of seasons now and doesn't seem to be going away yet. It's just such a useful functional piece that is great this time of year to throw on and add an extra layer when the weather isn't on your side. We loved the navy colour and cool detailing on this one from The Warehouse.

You can't go wrong with a pair of black legging as it gets colder. They are perfect layered with cosy shirts and jumpers, and add a little warmth when you can't have your summer legs out any more.

BLACK ANKLE BOOT//  Debut Callie boot $39
I am a self confessed black ankle boot addict. I have so many pairs yet I still manage to find more that have something different to offer. This particular pair are different to the rest of my collection as they have a pointed toe (I was also inspired by one of our favourite bloggers Isabella from Views of Now)

Plaid shirts are another love of mine and this one will be perfect for layering plus bringing in some white which is on trend this season and looks great when paired with the typical richer autumn colours.

We hope you enjoyed this post, stay tuned for part II and III with more autumnal inspiration!

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara Review + Launch

Last week I got to go along to the NZ launch for Benefit's new mascara 'Roller Lash'. The new mascara was inspired by old school hair rollers, so it was only fitting that the event was held at the popular hair salon 'Dry & Tea'! Not only did I get to play around with some benefit goodies, I also got to have my hair blow waved, talk about heaven! Today I thought I would share with you a few snaps from the event as well as my thoughts on the new mascara.

My thoughts in a nutshell//
Now, I am no mascara guru but thought I would attempt to give this bad boy a little mini review for you guys. I currently own Benefit's number one worldwide best selling mascara "They're Real". Depsite most people raving about "They're Real", I found it didn't do much for my short stubby lashes and often left black fallout all around my eyes.
The new "Roller Lash"mascara however blew me away. I haven't quite got a handle on moving the strange curved wand, but the formula is great on my lashes. It gives incredible length which is definitely my top priority in a mascara. In terms of holding a curl, it does a pretty good job at that too, however I still have to go in with my trusty hair curler before applying the mascara.
Overall, I think this mascara might just be one I will have to repurchase. Sorry Tara, I'm claiming this tube ;)

Taylor Swift 'Style' Music Video Outfit : celeb inspired fashion

Taylor Swift's new music video  already has almost 11 million views on youtube. It's for her single "Style" and the clothes in this video definitely live up to the name of the song. I was really inspired by her outfits and decided and put together my own "Style" look with clothing I already had at home.

Get the look!
The video has a focus on all white outfits, prominently featuring a white two piece set and a white lace dress. I didn't own anything similar to what she had but took elements from each of these looks to recreate my own. I paired a simple white skater skirt with a white tank. The top however has a little lace feature on the back similar to Taylor's dress. In terms of shoes, Swift is shown frolicking around the forest in bare feet in a few shots, but I decided to go with my white Mary Jane-style heels. I finished off the outfit with tousled messy hair and her classic red lip.

OOTD | Summer, Stripes and Red Lips

So in my last outfit post I talked about how I had been wearing this hat a lot lately so here's another post as evidence. I wore this outfit a couple of weeks ago (man has that gone fast!) when I had lunch with Britney aka #bisforbabe. We went to a place on K Rd called HoneyTrap and had some delish food while catching up and getting my awesome necklace I won in one of her blog/twitter giveaways. It was also this day that I found out there is an IkoIko on K Rd which was very exciting because that store if full of many *heart-eyed-emoji* things!

New Season Fashion & Homeware: The Warehouse Event

This morning I went along to The Warehouse's Fashion & Home New Season Preview with my friend Sophie. Blogging for me is quite a slow process and it usually takes a while for me to get a post together. Today however, I couldn't wait to share the photos from the Warehouse event. It was held in Ponsonby Central in the Saphire Room which provided the perfect open space to display all the new season furniture as well as clothes.

I didn't manage to get too many snaps of the clothing, but the twin piece leopard number (pictured below) was definitely a favourite for me. I have to confess, I turned my back on the clothes a little bit because I was just so distracted by the beautiful furniture! The new homeware range features some very trendy Scandinavian minimalist-vibe furniture, as well as some really cute and unique decorative pieces.

I think this event left all of the fashion and beauty bloggers wanting to turn their blogs into interior design blogs!
Hope you guys enjoyed these photos from the event, stay tuned for more new season fashion posts coming soon!
