What we got each other for Christmas - Sister Gift Swap

Merry Christmas everyone! We hope you had a great day wherever you are in the world. Since we didn't do vlogmas this year and our annual DIY advent calendar video didn't quite work out, we thought we needed at least one festive video so we filmed a gift swap video on Christmas morning. Let us know how you spent your Christmas day in the comments below. Don't forget to give the video a thumbs up if you liked it!

What to Wear to Graduation with Ellen

I made it. After three years of studying, this week I graduated with my bachelor of communications! There were times that I didn't think I would make it and times when I wanted to throw in the towel, but here I am, a graduate! Some might say what you wear to graduation doesn't really matter because you're covered by that Hogwarts style robe. But hey this is me you're talking to, I love to dress up. For my graduation look I picked out this white dress from cue. It ticked all the boxes for me. It wasn't too short, it was classy, it was simple, and it had pockets.

I remember when Emma Watson graduated from brown and photos surfaced online of her outfit, I saw it and thought "that's how I want to look for my graduation". My fangirl feelings for Emma remain strong and I think I achieved her graduate look pretty well (if I do say so myself). I also added a unique touch to my robe; my great grandmother's broach from Beruit. I also managed to make it across the stage in my favourite Windsor Smith heels despite my mother's concern. If you want more tips on how to dress for graduation check out Tara's post from earlier in the year. It was a pretty special day and I know this is a blog post I will always come back to look at to remember.

Dolce & Gabbana Sunglasses: Thrift Find

There's something about a good pair of sunglasses that can just make an outfit. Whenever I see a celebrity photographed on the street with great sunnies, I'm immediately jealous. Right before we left for Bali I broke my favourite pair of cheap black sunglasses. I decided I wanted to invest in a good pair, but found the ones of my wish list were well out of my price range, so instead I took a look of my favourite second-hand website, Designer Wardrobe and found these bad boys.

You might of seen them already in our previous post from Bali, but I also wore them in the 'get ready with me' video we filmed in Ubud. I've put the video at the bottom of this post for you to check out if you don't follow our YouTube channel already. What have you found thrifting recently? Let me know in the comments below!

What We Wore in Bali - A Beach OOTD

While most fashion bloggers travel the world with what seems like their entire wardrobe, when we went to bali we only took carry on luggage. Our 7kg ended up full of mostly camera gear so in the end a lot of outfit repeating happened. But for us, it wasn't about what we wore, it was about the place we were. We had an incredible time in Bali and have lots of photos and videos to share, but we wanted to kick things off with a classic 'outfit of the day'/'outfits of the entire trip because we had no clothes'.

What I Wore to University (for the Last Time) + Life Updates Vlog

Things have been a little quiet on the blog and Youtube channel these past weeks because our hardrive died and we lost a lot of the photos and videos we had shot. After a week of work, Tara's managed to recover most of what was on the hardrive including these photos, yay!

Connor took these snaps of me last week at uni and guess what - this will be my last university OOTD!! Yep, as of this week I'm officially no longer a student. I handed in my last two assignments on Thursday and started my new job the very next day. It's weird to think I have a full time job now and won't be going class, but I'm so ridiculously excited about this new adventure. If you want to hear more about what Tara and I have been up to recently, check out the vlog at the bottom of this post.

We filmed this weekly vlog not too long ago if you want to see Tara graduate and get a general update on what we're up to. It's been a while since we've done a vlog so let us know in the comments if you'd like to see more :)

Our Personal Style Videos

We decided to get a little bit creative and showcase what makes up our personal styles at the moment. Although we're sistsers, we dress quite differently and thought this would be a fun way to showcase it. It also gave us the oppurtunity to have a little more fun and freedom with our camera.

What to Wear to Graduation

Last week I had my graduation for my Masters of Nutrition and Dietetics, and it was a fun day spent celebrating with family and friends. Since this is my second graduation I thought I'd share a few tips for picking your graduation outfit.

1. Think about the weather: Short sleeved might be the best choice
Since you are wearing a big graduation gown most of the day it is good to keep this in mind and not wear anything underneath that you will get too hot in.

2. Go for a colour or white, black blends all together
Last time I graduated I went for a bright pink dress, this time a deep port red. I saw a couple people wearing black dresses and though they were nice up close they lost their detail when worn in combo with the graduation gown. The advantage of white is that you know the colour wont clash with your hood colour and it still stands out from the gown. I saw a few people with outfits matching the colours of their hoods which did look nice but I can imagine would be tricky to match exactly.

3. Think about length
At my graduation they had a camera pointing towards you from a low angle as you walked across the stage. This, and the fact that people will below you on the stage will be looking up towards you, leads to my suggestion that you go for a longer dress (or at least not a mini dress).

4. You don't have to buy a new dress
For this graduation I did buy a new dress, but last time I wore the same dress that I wore for my 21st birthday. Since the graduation gown does cover a lot of what you end up wearing it's not a big deal if you wear something you've worn before. Though it is nice to get something new for the special occasion, if you are on a tight budget or already have a dress in your wardrobe you really like then wear it!

How to Make a Formal Dress More Casual

Have you ever loved a dress so much you've just wanted to wear it everywhere? Well that's how I feel about this purple number I picked up at Savemart last year. I've worn it to multiple weddings and shared it on the blog a few months back. This week I really wanted to wear it to university, but while I enjoy dressing up for uni, I had to admit this would be going a bit too far But what can I say, I'm stubborn. So I found a way to wear it by dressing it down with a knitted jumper, a denim jacket and a pair of white sneakers. I'm pretty happy with the way it all came together and now I'll get even more wear out of this dress!
