Noir et Blanc : Pretty Little Liars Inspired Fashion

“I always thought champagne was the most sophisticated thing in the world.” - Pretty Little Liars, Aria Montgomery

Last Wednesday we went along to the 'Selling Dreams' exhibition at the Auckland Museum. It is a display of a 100 years of fashion photography and was completely inspiring (if you want to know more, check it out here). We were particularly amazed by the collection of black and white photos and the beauty they carried. The following night we sat down to watch the latest episode of Pretty Little Liars, which just so happened to be in black and white and set in the 1940's. The fashion and drama of the show left us totally inspired. We spent this morning creating the outfits, hair and make-up like the show. For those of you who don't watch Pretty Little liars, (you are definitely crazy if you don't, just saying), we included some snaps from the episode so you can see our inspiration.

Ellen Wears:

Jacket - Thrifted

Fur Jacket- Valley Girl

Pants c/o Style Keepers

Pearls -

Passionata

Shoes - Clarks

Tara Wears:

Dress - Mothers

Fur Jacket - Grandmothers

Shoes - Number One Shoes

Our hair and makeup was definitely something fun in this shoot. Ellen made a little fake hair bob and Tara went for her most dramatic cat eye. We absolutely love how these photos turned out; we are so keen to incorporate this 40's glamour into an everyday outfit.

Make sure you leave your comments below, we would love to hear what you thought of these photos!
