Buying Your First Eye Cream - Our Top 4 Picks

Today we've rounded up four of our favourite eye creams and written a little bit about when we like to use them.

Eye creams were something we really wanted to get into more this year, but we know it can be tricky picking which one to buy. Hopefully this will help make your choice easier!

1.  Kiehls Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado- Ellen's Choice

This was my first eye cream that I bought earlier this year. I chose this one after hearing a lot of good things about how hydrating it is. One things for sure, it definitely lives up to the hype! My eyes were getting really dry from wearing makeup everyday and this helped a lot. It is probably the thickest of the four eye creams in this post, which is why I think it's my personal favourite. The only downside is that its so thick you have to rub it between your fingers to warm it up before application. It's only a small extra step, but on nights when I just want to jump into bed it feels like a lot of effort.

2. Clinique Pep-Start Eye Cream* - For the Morning Girl

This eye cream didn't make the best first impression when we used it. Though the formula itself is great, the packaging is a bit of a let down. It has a squeezy tube with a rounded plastic tip, but we found the plastic catches and pulls on your under eye area and doesn't spread the product very well. However, if you apply it with your finger it can become a great option for those wanting a morning eye cream. It has a light gel-like texture that creates a cooling feeling and it actually does make you feel more wake. This is the one Ellen reaches for when she has an early 8am lectures.

3. Manuka Doctor Age-Defying Eye Cream* - Tara's Choice

I'm turning 25 this year and I'm starting to notice some new expression wrinkles starting to crop up. This light weight eye cream is moisturizing with added anti-ageing properties. Since using this eye cream I've noticed it plumping the under-eye area, helping both with dark circles and lines. It has an almost gel-like feel and is nice and soothing on the eyes. Being packaged in a tube also means it is easy to dispense and apply.

4. Antipodes Kiwi Seed Oil Eye Cream* - For Eye's That Need Some Love

This eye cream is not as thick as the Kiehls one, but is another very rich and hydrating cream.  The pot is very small and deep making it a little more difficult to get the product out packaging can make it a little hard to get out. But in saying that you do get a lot of product in the one jar. Tara reaches for this one before bed, especially when her eyes are quite dry, tired, or in need of some TLC.
