What to Wear to a Wedding - Waiheke Island

I've just returned home after a blissful weekend away on Waiheke Island for a wedding - and what a celebration it was. The ceremony and reception was held at the stunning Mudbrick Vineyard with beautiful hills looking back at Auckland city on one side and then out to the Coromandel on the other. With a view like that I couldn't not take some outfit photos, so I enlisted the help of my mum to get a few shots and I think she did a pretty fine job if I do say so myself...

THE OUTFIT DECODED

We've done a few blog posts on the past on wedding guest outfits, but I couldn't resist revisiting the topic once again. For this occasion I wore a satin blue dress from Closet London and my new Bvlgari bag, which you might have seen in our latest vlog here. It was formal enough to fit the dress code, but the short skirt and sleeves meant I didn't bake in the hot sun.

In terms of the bag, a clutch or small shoulder bag is always an elegant choice for a wedding and this one fitted everything I needed - phone, card, lippy and powder. Together with the blue dress it made for a fun, bright colour palette to suit the summer occasion.

For shoes, I would've loved to have worn heels, but alas my old grandma knees wouldn't let me. Instead I opted for a pair of glitzy sandals from Clarks. On the plus side, my feet only began to get sore towards the very end of the night and now looking at the photos, I think the metallic straps were a great match for the dress.

Dress - Closet London // Bag - Bvlgari // Sunglasses - Dolce & Gabbana // Shoes - Clarks.
